Collage painting-work in progress
Work in progress, highly textured piece with burnt and collaged areas and still some stitching to come. You can see the finished piece and find out more about it in my painting gallery. The original painting and prints of it are for sale along with an opportunity for a donation in my Saatchi Art shop.
Paper Structure
Been working on an intricate 3D structure made up of many cut out dodecagonal pieces that fit together rather like a jigsaw. It takes about 3 hours to make 1 section/level so all in all it took 9 hours to construct this piece so far as it has 3 sections/levels. It took a further 5 hours to work out the actual geometry that is the basis of each section. So far, altogether it has taken 14 hours on this.
Geometric Shell
Taken up the compass, pencil & ruler again to work out the geometry behind the spiral of a shell. Always important to keep the brain cells challenged and boy was this a challenge! You can see the raw geometry (below) underneath the pen and ink sketch.
Art Tutorials
Primary schools often tend to rely on class teachers to plan and deliver art lessons to children which means that teachers can feel ‘out of their depths’ and end up planning lessons that are lacking in key Art skills. As a qualified primary teacher I am in the perfect position to help overloaded classroom teachers feel empowered to teach art. I create free, skill based Art tutorials on my Youtube channel Narsh’s Art and share them across several teaching social media platforms and what’s been so rewarding to discover is that teachers are really happy with them and the children in their classes learn new skills.
Exploring paper sculptures.
Tropical Flower Structure
During this period of Lockdown I’ve found some time to begin a much desired project exploring paper sculpture. The inspirations are microscopic algae, geometric natural forms and tropical seed pods.
Do pop back soon to see what I’ve been up to…
