Inner + Outer form

Work in progress. I’ve been so excited to begin creating this series. An inner geometric shape is suspended within the protective space of an outer form. A protected microcosmic world echoed in the outer larger form. I'm hoping to create other more complex shapes and explore different materials used to suspend the inner form.

The octagonal pattern consists of repeating squares around a central star motif. The square & cube could be see to represent stability, firmness balance and with the inner form also protection and security. As the pieces grow, I may play with these concepts and ideas more.
